Critically acclaimed singer/songwriter Catherine Britt is this week celebrating her first Golden Guitar win – for Female Artist of the Year.

Despite being championed by Elton John, receiving three ARIA nominations and having a string of chart topping hits, Saturday night's Golden Guitar was her first major award win.

“I've wanted one of these [a Golden Guitar] since I was ten years old. I'd like to thank everyone who has ever helped my career. I'm so happy,” said an emotional Britt when accepting the award.

Her win was one of the most popular at the CMAA Awards in many years.

ABC Music/Universal Music Australia recently released a Deluxe CD/DVD edition of her current album, Little Wildflower, which was produced by Grammy nominated producer Brett Beavers. It's in stores now.

Catherine will be performing shows in New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia and the Northern Territory in the coming months, including shows with mutli-award winning Canadian, Corb Lund.
